Our shag club meets at the Oak Island VFW on 50th St next to the Publix shopping center. We are proud members of The Association of Carolina Shag Clubs (ACSC) and SOS (Society of Stranders).
While located in Oak Island, we also have members from nearby Southport, St. James, Bolivia, and other parts of Brunswick County and the Cape Fear Region.
We meet on the second and fourth Fridays of the month, with a few exceptions due to holidays and such. Non-members are always welcome.
Other events throughout the year include occasional Sunday afternoon dances at the Lazy Turtle Bar & Grill, the Oak Island Beach Day Shag Contest, FreePour celebrations during SOS (Society of Stranders) Week in North Myrtle Beach, and our annual Charity Golf Tournament.
